OBOE REPAIR SERVICES: CLEAN, OIL AND ADJUST

The Clean, Oil, and Adjust (C.O.A.) are intended to keep your oboe or English horn in playing condition and extend the time between overhauls.

All keys are cleaned out and oiled without disturbing pads and bumpers.
The body joints, bell, and barrel are thoroughly cleaned, removing dust, grease, and filth, and the wood elements are lightly oiled with bore oil as required.
The mechanism is unpinned for proper internal cleaning and oiling
Springs, tenon corks, and bumpers are tested and replaced if necessary.
The keys are reassembled and the instrument is regulated.
Pad leveling is done.
The instrument is tested.

OBOE OVERHAUL

An Oboe overhaul is one of those services that once you do it (and it's done well) it makes sense - and often you can’t imagine ever going back to playing an instrument that is less than perfectly setted-up.

All pads, bumpers, and corks are replaced
Body and keys polished and cleaned (ultrasound machine)
The mechanism is depinned for proper internal cleaning and oiling
Tone holes are checked for the correct level
Springs changed where necessary
Body and keys oiled
Small cracks repaired
Keys reassembled and swedged if needed
The instrument is adjusted and regulated
The instrument is tested.
