The Clean, Oil, and Adjust (C.O.A.) are intended to keep your bassoon playing at its peak and to extend the time between overhauls.

The bassoon is disassembled and inspected in detail.
All the keys are cleaned out and oiled.
The wood body is lightly oiled.
The body joints are cleaned, removing dust, grease, and filth.
Springs and tenon corks are tested and replaced if necessary.
The instrument is reassembled and adjusted.
The pads are finely adjusted.
The instrument is tested.

BASSOON OVERHAUL

A Bassoon overhaul is one of those services that once you do it (and it's done well) it makes sense - and often you can’t imagine ever going back to playing an instrument that is less than perfectly setted-up.

All pads, bumpers, and corks are replaced
Body and keys polished and cleaned
Tone holes are checked to see if they are level
Springs are changed where necessary
Body and keys are oiled
Small cracks are repaired
Keys are reassembled and swedged if needed
The instrument is adjusted and regulated
The instrument is tested.
